File not found due to file/toolbar button deleted from desktop/Recycle Bin.
Cause:
The toolbar button was deleted and this also will delete the file associated with the button. The Recycle Bin was disabled or purged and the file is no longer available through Windows 95.
Solution:
Shut down and reboot to Command Prompt Only. Run UNDELETE.
Use the MS-DOS UNDELETE command.
1) Close all open applications:
a) Right-click on the taskbar button for the application and select 'Close' from the Shortcut menu.
b) Click 'Close' to close the application.
2) Click 'Start' and select 'Shutdown...'.
3) Select the 'Restart the Computer in MS-DOS mode' radio button from the Shut Down dialog box. (The computer reboots and restarts.)
4) Type the following at the prompt:
LOCK C:
(where 'C:' is the name of the root directory).
5) Type Y when the warning prompt appears.
6) Change to the directory where the file was deleted by entering CD\DIRECTORY\PATH
7) Type UNDELETE *.* at the prompt.
8) When prompted to undelete the deleted file type Y.
NOTE: In some cases a file may be unrecoverable and DOS will indicate this.
9) Type the first letter of the filename when prompted.
NOTE: Any letter can be used for the first letter if it is not known.
10) Type UNLOCK C: when finished.
11) Type EXIT to return to Windows.
